Could be because Ganz is short for Ganzzahl and a noun.

I'd suggest "vorzeichnenbehaftete Ganzzahl" (maybe vbGanz) and "vorzeichenlose Ganzzahl" (vlGanz) 🤣 please don't make that a thing
