Actually due south gatewayed me into canadian music back in the 90's, so I'm good there :)
It's actually pretty fascinating because apart from the obvious differences there are a lot of common thematics with Australia that we don't share with the US - and a lot of that does have to do with the more social oriented societies as opposed to US individualism.
Well that and the massive emphasis on maritime activities
