Russian authorities have chosen a bizarre way to express their gratitude to the mothers of soldiers killed in the war in Ukraine, gifting them meat grinders and flowers for International Women’s Day.

According to the articles, the officials said the gifts were provided based on the mother's request. This is a statement by the mothers that the government then had to smile and do anyways because that's what they requested.
