I confirm this. In the south, working in software development, half my coworkers always come from random countries. Except Americans, I've never seen them and I don't know why. They should come, we have great food, beer, and wine.

Probably the pay, Europe is notoriously lower pay, especially for tech.

Also, the visa process is way harder then just moving within the EU.

Why move halfway around the world when there's a whole content of better pay at your doorstep?

Not technically "pay", but:

  • Healthcare
  • Vacation
  • Employees having rights at all

are pretty good benefits.

As a side note. If you are able to negotiate for more pay, you're also able to negotiate for more paid holiday. Just saying.

That's a massive "if" and depends on many factors. I'd rather have my paid vacation days guaranteed by law.

Yeah but most countries have 4-5 weeks and you can negotiate more on top of that.
