This was like a year ago but there's some wildly racist memes that have come out of the Yakub stuff and people decided to just err on the side of caution.
That's fair, it's actually pretty easy to see how that could be used to be racist and uncomfy. I'm just always so proud of our mods, they seem to consistently make the right decisions.
my recollection of it was that it was a request from some poc users but i'm not a reliable source. certainly not as reliable as the secretary of health and human services!
