He doesn't want to look weak so he'll keep the rhetoric about "harsh tariffs on China" and China will keep their tariffs on american goods in response while trump undermines himself sector by sector. We'll end up with a situation where there is a 145% tariff on a half dozen things from China and China charges 125% on everything from america because trump cant take his foot out of his mouth.
