Actually getting a reliable stream of AMAs going could be just what Lemmy needs to really grow, it was a primary engagement point for Reddit.

Does anyone know how that all started or how to replicate the approach built by them?

Probably create a meta post on !askmeanything@lemmy.ca asking people to offer what AMAs they could do and then organize the ones with the most votes

Have one really dedicated and passionate person moderate and reach out to people for AMAs.
