Cloud-based web application platform Vercel is among the latest companies to find their servers blocked in Spain due to LaLiga's ongoing IPTV anti-piracy campaign. Yesterday I was thinking about this, it is like authorities don't give a fuck about piracy until someone local complains about it. Years ago it was about the music but it turns out is wasn't the musicians who were complaining, it was the society in charge of collecting and distributing the money between the copyright holders (sgae), those were corrupt as fuck and after a couple scandals I haven't heard about them much.
