It’s not. I have a Mastadon account (made it nearly a year before BlueSky). It was work. I have to curate it and the interface is awful. BlueSky was easy.

To be clear, I barely use BlueSky, either. I’m almost exclusively on Lemmy. But these platforms need to get their UX ducks in order, and I say that as someone who has adapted to tech and UX since the late 80s.

Would you mind bridging your Bluesky account with Mastodon through https://fed.brid.gy/ ?

I'd follow you through Mastodon.

Same for me. If you are interested in ease of use, instagram and x do the job AFAIK. But if you are interested in a resilient decentralized platform (and the future of humanity in a non dystopian world), bluesky is not one (although it pretends to be). So for me its mastodon and pixelfed all the way.

Apparently I need to make a new account; it’s been a loooooong time *warning, Reddit link).

I’ll make a new mastadon account and link it here.

FYI bridging with Mastodon doesn't require a Mastodon account on your end, it will make your account accessible to be followed by Mastodon users, and even recieve replies from Mastodon users if they also bridged their accounts.

I’m confused, then. Do I bridge it from Bluesky?

I clicked your link but it didn’t make sense from my end.
