There's a couple communities that I have blocked perky because they're importing posts from reddit. Not screenshots, but years to decades old posts that are archived. All the power to you to waste your server space, but do it quietly.
I just joined lemme.ee today and just saw that..smh.
Why are they doing that? I think it was r/games or something. Just lots and lots of automated posts....what's the point? It just seems to destroy the chance of community and engagement if it's just doing that. What's the strategy that I'm not understanding?
Reddit, X/Twitter, Facebook... I'm here to get away from all of those.
Lemmy, Kbin, Mastodon and the rest of the Fediverse doesn't have to exist in contrast to other social media.

I think it’s to spark discussion among users
For me all those bot accounts got annoying quick so I disabled them
The irony is they always seem to have 0 comments lol, so much for sparking discussion.
