Better than that dude that spammed the whole fuckin community about chrome the other day

[-] gabe@literature.cafe 26 points 2 years ago

In the future everything is chrome

The only acceptable way to use chrome.

Idunno, doesn't it make metal objects look all fancy and shiny too?

Sick of Reddit comments...

Comments about Reddit...

[-] littlecolt@lemm.ee 5 points 2 years ago

The level of user sense of humor in these comments is a lot like reddit, too!

[-] Andrew15_5@mander.xyz 2 points 2 years ago

Been there, done that.

[-] whaleross@kbin.social 33 points 2 years ago

Reddit, X/Twitter, Facebook... I'm here to get away from all of those.

Lemmy, Kbin, Mastodon and the rest of the Fediverse doesn't have to exist in contrast to other social media.

It can just be.

There's a couple communities that I have blocked perky because they're importing posts from reddit. Not screenshots, but years to decades old posts that are archived. All the power to you to waste your server space, but do it quietly.

[-] nacho@lemm.ee 7 points 2 years ago

I just joined lemme.ee today and just saw that..smh.

Why are they doing that? I think it was r/games or something. Just lots and lots of automated posts....what's the point? It just seems to destroy the chance of community and engagement if it's just doing that. What's the strategy that I'm not understanding?

[-] FlihpFlorp@lemm.ee 7 points 2 years ago

I think it’s to spark discussion among users

For me all those bot accounts got annoying quick so I disabled them

[-] einsteinx2@programming.dev 2 points 2 years ago

The irony is they always seem to have 0 comments lol, so much for sparking discussion.

[-] Natanael@slrpnk.net 2 points 2 years ago

You should do that on a server you control so you can set timestamps and all correctly while importing directly to the DB, not just automate posting of it all

[-] littlecolt@lemm.ee 2 points 2 years ago

Funny thing is... I posted one of these on Bluesky.

Leave twitter to escape Elon, go to Bluesky

Look inside

Elon

[-] Ganbat@lemmyonline.com 24 points 2 years ago

Reminder: Posting about posting about Reddit is still posting about Reddit.

[-] VikingHippie@lemmy.wtf 7 points 2 years ago

And much more annoying since most of the posts about Reddit at least have some sort of substance beyond the mention itself..

[-] shinysquirrel@lemmy.ml 23 points 2 years ago

you are contributing to the problem

[-] motorheadkusanagi@lemmy.world 16 points 2 years ago

does this count as a post about reddit? 🤔

[-] KairuByte@lemmy.dbzer0.com 15 points 2 years ago

Oh look, another post about Reddit…

[-] littlecolt@lemm.ee 3 points 2 years ago

It's true, I'm a part of the problem. At least I'm not the whole problem.

[-] money_loo@lemmy.world 3 points 2 years ago

Now go make a post about Elon Musk to keep the ball rolling.

[-] littlecolt@lemm.ee 3 points 2 years ago
[-] Natanael@slrpnk.net 2 points 2 years ago

Just need to post on Briar and scuttlebutt too and you've got them all, lol

(Funny seeing another bsky user in the wild, btw)

[-] VikingHippie@lemmy.wtf 15 points 2 years ago

A LITTLE late? "Stop talking about Reddit" has consistently been the number one most common post category here since the July exodus.

They're becoming MUCH more common and indeed much more of a nuisance than the excessive talk about Reddit they're complaining about. Sorta like all the self-appointed repost detectives of both Reddit and here.

[-] Mongostein@lemmy.ca 12 points 2 years ago

I am downvoting this post about reddit because you don’t like it, op.

[-] littlecolt@lemm.ee 5 points 2 years ago

I encourage this

[-] ren@lemmy.world 11 points 2 years ago

Subscribe to better communities lol. I don’t see Reddit shit except posts like this.

[-] YIj54yALOJxEsY20eU@lemm.ee 7 points 2 years ago

Thanks, my first post about reddit today

[-] pH3ra@lemmy.ml 7 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago)

Most people that post about Reddit are newcomers that are frustrated with the old platform and just want to vent. Posts like that are often their first ones: you should just let them vent a little and welcome them, instead of stifling them immediatly.
That's how you get a steady flow of new users.

[-] SaltyIceteaMaker@lemmy.ml 6 points 2 years ago

As punctual as the Deutsche Bahn

[-] Infamousblt@hexbear.net 5 points 2 years ago

This time you're the post about reddit!

[-] somas@kbin.social 5 points 2 years ago

I’m very impressed with startrek.website. The community appears to me to have completely forgotten about Reddit altogether.

[-] Samsy@lemmy.ml 4 points 2 years ago

I see this as an absolut win. Why? Because people who transists over time has the old rotten platform and their anger/reasons of migrating to us at their minds.

No posts about Elon and fuckspez, means no transition anymore.

[-] AutumnSpark1226@lemmy.today 3 points 2 years ago

crossposted from r/memes xD

[-] NocturnalMorning@lemmy.world 2 points 2 years ago

I come here to not think about reddit.. not to read posts about reddit.
