Unrelated little tangent: it's neat to me that I've never taken a German lesson but know the gist of this is "The German ignorance is (superceded?) by the German Arrogance".

Language is based.

Odd that Irish is listed there as it’s not a Germanic language. It’s Celtic. Hiberno English could be there, but it’s more a dialect than a language.

Presumably they meant Hiberno-English, also known as Irish English.

Overshadowed I’d translate it as German ignorance is only overshadowed by German arrogance but I find translating German well to be very difficult.

I think it's "only superceded by". It's the same word in Esperanto (nur = only).
