Title says it all. In combination with the recent post about somebody getting banned from the same comm, there's a trend starting to emerge.

Edit: Sad but unsurprising that this immediately got downvoted by a German user

Edit 2: Looks like this was just one of many such posts that got locked without any reason given. Notice a pattern in the topics locked?

The feddit.org admins are planning to make an official announcement on how they see the situation and there was an internal discussion about this where it was agreed to wait for that official announcement. This is the main reason these topics were closed.

When is the announcement planned for? It's been a couple days since the topics were locked. Without any further word on it this is no different than standard censorship.

It's been posted a few hours ago: https://feddit.org/post/12529640.

Maybe it deserves its own post, since they've been a topic here a lot lately, idk.

I went ahead and made one.

I suggest that any "announcement" should be made here as their overeager mod managed to ban number of users defending Palestinians and therefore made any discussion over there not possible.

Willing to bet if their priorities are where I think they are, they won't do that. Why would they want to facilitate easy discussion of or against their Zionist policies? No if we want that here someone will have to crosspost it most likely.

I really hope they have a good explanation for this kind of censorship..

Fuck off, I am own this server is the best case scenario since it would at least be honest.

[-] Skiluros@sh.itjust.works 7 points 2 days ago

I am curious about the contents for the announcement.

German law requires us to supress any criticism of the genocide perpetrated by isralies BC we only killed the Jews during ww2

[-] FelixCress@lemmy.world 5 points 1 day ago

It seems they won't do it at all. Bunch of cowards.

[-] sunzu2@thebrainbin.org 6 points 1 day ago

Because the law reason has nothing to stand on, same as lemmy.world and luigi.

They know this and there is nothing else they can rely to justify it. So they are just gonna ignore and save face.

But the issue has been properly documented. It will resurface again unless y'all think Israelis are gonna stop genocide.

I am more curious about the framing and general tone.

Ye Power Trippin' Bastards

139 users here now

This is a community in the spirit of "Am I The Asshole" where people can post their own bans from lemmy or reddit or whatever and get some feedback from others whether the ban was justified or not.

Sometimes one just wants to be able to challenge the arguments some mod made and this could be the place for that.

Posting Guidelines

All posts should follow this basic structure:

  1. Which mods/admins were being Power Tripping Bastards?
  2. What sanction did they impose (e.g. community ban, instance ban, removed comment)?
  3. Provide a screenshot of the relevant modlog entry (don’t de-obfuscate mod names).
  4. Provide a screenshot and explanation of the cause of the sanction (e.g. the post/comment that was removed, or got you banned).
  5. Explain why you think its unfair and how you would like the situation to be remedied.

Rules

Expect to receive feedback about your posts, they might even be negative.

Make sure you follow this instance's code of conduct. In other words we won't allow bellyaching about being sanctioned for hate speech or bigotry.
