No need to be sorry. I'd step down as mod if dealing with stuff like this was too much work for me.

Plus this isn't the first time a post with an AI image has gotten this kind of response. I just copy-pasted the same comment I made the last time this happened.

You shouldn't be sorry, you didn't do anything wrong content wise. If anything you helped the community by sparking a important conversation leading to better defined guidelines which I imagine will be updated if this becomes a common enough issue.
