soviet fraternal kisses are the cultural remnant of this economic system; called "kissinomics", implemented during a period of 1920 during the civil war. the initiative went well for about a day but when the people realised they could 'mint' new kisses by themselves or with a partner, kissing hyperinflation briefly took control of moscow's economy, driving it to a standstill. there are apocryphal stories of stalin being obliged to kiss a breadmaker so many times his hairs began rubbing from his moustache!
