The greatest DOS games that defined the golden generation of DOS gaming
(www.xda-developers.com)
A place to discuss anything DOS related. From DOSBox to actual retro hardware and FPGA emulation. From old games and software to new running on DOS. We also allow source ports of games originally on DOS.
::: spoiler Rules:
Learned how to cd into C:\Program Files\Games when I was 5 just to run doom.exe on the family computer. Duke Nukem 2D, Commander Keen, Wacky Wheels, Blakestone, and many others too.
Micro Machines and Raptor: Call of the Shadows deserve a mention as well.
I liked Raptor, but I LOVED Tyrian
My preferred scrolling shooter was SWIV, which I had for my Amiga. I doubt that a lot of people know that one though, and it isn't DOS. Never heard of Tyrian.
Tyrian is freeware and open source!
