The tough issue is that while they did end slavery they never changed ownership and slaves didn't own anything so all the people in this thread arguing how to identify actual victoms are idiots! It's the same debate we have with cononialism just on a far smaller scale and there is no easy solution but none isn't sufficient ether!
The US did not completely end slavery. Prisons can treat prisoners as slave labor.
True, especially considering the way they use it and the reasons they might make you one for!
