MODERATORS
If it's one egg, it's only one chestburster and consequently one alien initially. That then has to web humans to turn them into eggs (O'Bannon/Scott canon) or turn into a queen to lay more eggs (Cameron canon).
A webbed human* ‘became’ an egg with only a drone, no queen, in a universe/canon at some point?
Edit: grammar
It's in a deleted scene of the first movie and re-integrated into the director's cut. And in the Ridley Scott made Alien movies since Prometheus there hasn't been a single mention or glimpse of the queens.
