I looked down at the grass and thought: there is technically a possibility that i could fall through the earth without my atoms hitting earths atoms
Atoms are like 98% empty, but it is the inter-atomic electromagnetic forces that keep atoms from passing through one another.
For the sake of your highdea...
Is it possible to pass a solid object through another solid object? Quantum mechanics says yes, but only on an incredibly small scale because quantum tunneling(a realization of the probability of an atom to pass through another atomic electromagnetic field) has an almost zero possibility of happening with a given large number of atoms and can only occur realistically with one atom passing a 2D plane with a given resistance.
What if that's how people go missing sometimes?
