Why common climate messaging often backfires – and how to fix it

You need to tie it to security or something else that directly hits people's selfish interests.
e.g. If your country can't go without importing fossil fuels from the middle east or any other unstable area, you are not safe.
Or: don't give money to petrostates like russia who will then use it against you.
