Just as the title asks I've noticed a very sharp increase in people just straight up not comprehending what they're reading.

They'll read it and despite all the information being there, if it's even slightly out of line from the most straightforward sentence structure, they act like it's complete gibberish or indecipherable.

Has anyone else noticed this? Because honestly it's making me lose my fucking mind.

Yeah there's no room for any kind of nuance, you can't ever agree with one thing and disagree on another. You're either with or against, even if you agree on 99% you'll still be ousted as the "out group."

Or just disagree not because of some moral issue but because you're aware of an side effect that would arise if their solution was implemented, etc. And calling them out on it as not being the best path forward immediately classes you as part of the problem.

Hyper tribalism, that's a good phrase for it.
