We took my (then 8-12 years old it's been a minute) cousin to the zoo. He loved the ape house. He started imitating, aping, these chimpanzees. I think they were chimps. Really dark fur, the right size. Anyways it was cute at first that finally an animal was awake and even better interacting with us. Then I noticed Chimpo doing the battle sway. Tried to get cousin to move to the next exhibit, and he didn't want to until Chimpo slammed into the glass like an angry gorilla. That shot must've moved like 3 inches, and that was fuckthick glass. Angry chimps are less fun, especially when they're angry at you and want to drink your eye juices.
My fascination with monkeys went like this:
I was in a zoo and saw monkeys. Aww, monkeys. Then a monkey proceeded to grab it's youngling via legs, slam it inti tree trunk behind it, slam it into the branch it was sitting on, slam it again it on trunk, ponder for a second while the stunned monkey swayed in it's grasp and then slam it into the trunk again and only then put it back how it was. I was amased that the poor little one managed not to fall right iff after being put back.
Anyway, fascination cleared. Reaaaally quick.
