It's kinda same when you hear people starting their sentences with "I'm not political, but..." and you can then be sure that for a next few seconds you will hear the most feverish liberal take possible.
Lucky if they're liberals, usually is the most reactionary shit ever.
The rule of thumb is that every person that considers themselves to be non political is just a person that absorbs the ruling ideology aka. what is normal an apolitical to them from their environment, other people, media, movies, TV.
If the sentence starts with "this might be offensive, but..." then it's a different matter
Literally happened to me yesterday in an online space. "We don't allow the discussion here to get political" after I replied to an "unpolitical" comment with bullshit idealist liberal takes under a nihilistic liberal doomer post. No such warning for the other two.
