My spouse found the jewelry I was planning to give her, didn't like it, and has given me a moritorium on purchasing any more jewelry. Please help me, I didn't have a backup and I want to do better than a rice cooker.

Write her a poem. Buy her flowers. Invite her to a nice restaurant. Do all of it and more.

Our marriage has lasted 35 years on non-commercial gifts. We enjoy being thoughful to one another a lot more than spending money on shit. Try it, if she's truly your soulmate, she'll appreciate, even if you go about it all awkward-like.
