What's up with this straight up pro-china and pro-russia stuff on Lemmy lately?

It's not even praising the people of China and Russia, but rather their gov directly.

Obviously the states have problems, and the EU to a lesser degree, but they at least have some human rights.

Is this some kind of organized disinformation campaign?

This is nonsense. Not a single definition of propaganda, Marxist, liberal, or otherwise, states that propaganda must be state-owned. All media trying to push a narrative is propaganda in some form. Private owners pushing pro-capitalist propaganda is still propaganda.

The systematic propagation of a doctrine or cause or of information reflecting the views and interests of those advocating such a doctrine or cause.

Further, the US does use state influence. Whether it be in the education system, or via state-funded NGOs like Radio Free Asia, the Victims of Communism foundation, etc the state supports the ruling class via propaganda.
