Leaving the rest aside, even if steam did lose some market share, it would be like Netflix losing market share: we'll go from one dominant bad platform to 6 or 8 squabbling platforms that are all even worse.

If we want to replace these dominant platforms (in any sector) we need to create a better alternative somehow, instead of hoping the market will
