Get some programmable RGB lights and switch them to red when going to the toilet. This helps avoiding triggering your M- and S-cones too much and your brain remains in a sleep-ready stage.
That, or even more low-tech: just any old tiny, tiny source of light. Given how sensitive eyes are at night, even things like the status LED of whatever electronic device one picks up may provide one with more than enough light.
