Another month gone, another month older, another month at work.

I've been reading Great Teacher Onizuka and so far it's almost exactly 1:1 like the anime... which means, the horribly aged ableism is about to hit, beyond all the other problematic stuff. Beyond that, it remains as fun as I remember. It's neat. B+

Gundam SEED has managed to make it across its entire 50 episode run without making me too annoyed or in amused disbelief over the nonsense happening on the screen. Really, it's... alright. I wish Kira and Lacus were less wooden characters. Athrun and Cagalli were significantly more interesting and 500x more likeable than Ange and Tusk in the trainwreck of a show named Cross Ange, who used them as a ~~self-plagiarism~~ source of inspiration B-
SEED Destiny too... has been pretty alright so far. However, I do like Shinn's character. That man has definitely every reason to be as angry as he is... but I am fairly confident the show won't do too much with that. Speaking of Cagalli, wow, that is a massive downgrade in character writing compared to S1. Supposedly, there's IRL drama that caused that! C+
CITY is Nichijou 2, not much else to say about it. It doesn't quite live up to the predecessor, and with the shorter show run it probably never will, but it is undeniably still a good show. A
Dragon Ball Z - almost done with the Freeza fight. That was... pretty long. But consistently good, even though some previously impactful stuff, like people dying, is not much of a big deal now. A
Ranma 1/2 is also consistently entertaining. Not much else to say about it at this point. A

I knew Gravity Falls was always a highly regarded show... but I did not expect it to be this good. There's an iconic cast of characters, compelling storytelling... it's just very very competent at what it sets out to do. A+

A challenging Super Robot Wars game in the year of our Lord 2025? One that has, so far, good writing? One that is available in a language I speak? Y is shockingly good. I've been on a binge this weekend. A+

Manga
The only one I read recently was Harukaze no Zephyr, the continuation of The Stranger by the Shore. Unfortunately it has 2 issues. The first one is a pretty bad scene in the manga right at the start, tho it never happens again after that, the second one being that it is only translated until chapter 21, the next chapters are not translated because the manga is being officially sold in the US :( so I had to read some tumblr posts about the newest chapters.
Other than that I want to get back into Chainsaw Man part 2, I stopped reading it more than a year ago. I'll probably rewatch the anime and re-read part 1 which I have all the manga volumes.
Anime
I think this is the first time I'm watching so many at a time.
Gachiakuta is pretty good so far. I knew nothing about it other than that a lot of people really like it, so I was surprised class relations are a big part of the story. The art style reminds me of Soul Eater which I like a lot, so that's a plus too. Also, it's great seeing actually well designed black characters in anime, the ones shown until now all look extremely cool.
The Summer Hikaru Died is my favorite of the season right now, I love the gay horror anime and want to see where it goes.
One Piece continues to surprise me. Egghead is great so far even to it started to slow down the pace in the anime and I lost count of how many times I cried in this arc, Kuma is definitely one of the best characters in the story. I just wished Oda would not fucking sexualize Bonney.
Dandadan outside of the few really bad scenes is genuinely great and fun. Okarun and Momo are too cute together ๐. The rock concert episode was amazing and I have been listening to that song ever since lol.
I have also just watched Jujutsu Kaisen season 2. I had previously watched season 1 when it launched and the movie too, but I decided to rewatch it since I didn't remember a lot of it and honestly season 1 only gets interesting to me at the end specially during Todou's fight with Itadori, the movie I really liked both times and season 2 I thought was great from beginning to end, specially during the Shibuya Incident arc. Most of the fight scenes were great and the animation was incredible. My only complaints are that Nobara didn't get much screen time and didn't get to shine, and that there's some fascist rethoric by a few characters that is just presented as wrong but never confronted properly, mainly from Getou and the girl that was Todou's teacher.
Other than that I want to start To Be Hero X, Lord of Mysteries and The Apothecary Diaries, which are all Chinese and look great.
