Of course, but our working rights have been heavily eroded the last few decades (name me one person who strictly works 8 hours anymore for a livable wage).
My comment was to say that I'm glad there's a hardcoded maximum to how long a day physically can be, as a stopgap to any further oppression
...that would be me. I work 37h/week and make 160% of the median pay in my country. I would say I'm definitely making a living wage.
That sounds amazing and congrats to you for securing such a career. I'd say I'm earning similar, and it's by no means livable, but yes YMMV
