Hello, I think that with time we are going to have the equivalent substitute of all the usefull apps out there. LinkedIn is an interesting one because having a central entity deciding who gets the best opportunity is repulsive to users.
There are a few useful components in LinkedIn.
The feed; The job postings; DM;
Having a federated model can be useful because you would be getting job openings from companies you follow and posts from professionals you follow on your other fediverse plataforms.
I haven't heard of any on going project, but even if you don't know how to code you could start an open source project on codeberg and invite people to contribute. It may inspire others to keep the project going.
