The real ugly bit though:
It's always projection with them. It happens so frequently that I'm no longer surprised by these sorts of stories, and why I'm always on-guard whenever I hear a conservative suggest policies around children.
Rules for thee but not for me
I will teach my daughter to never trust strangers, but to be specially terrified of White Christian Conservatives.
This type of public hypocrisy by elected officials should double or triple punishments.
Every single statement they have made about the topic should be admissible as evidence to be used against them in court during sentencing. Every single time they have suggested stricter punishments should be compiled into a list and tacked onto their sentence.
I don't inherently disagree with the sentiment, although I know his reasoning is different than mine.
Children should have to overcome a bunch of hurdles to be given potentially life altering medication. No matter if it's hormones or something equally as impactful. .
The truth is that kids latch on to the newest thing. Whenever homosexuality was becoming more mainstream, not homosexual people came onto the scene because it was the "it" thing.
That's not to say that being trans is a fad, but tons of kids are influenced by things and make decisions that don't necessarily reflect what they want long term.
Shit, I got a tattoo at 18 that I'm going to get lasered off when I can afford it. If I had decided to get my penis removed then, I would have regretted it now.
But ultimately, and I know I'm going to get hate for this, being transgender is a subset of body dysmorphic disorder. It just so happens that the treatment is hormones and genital surgery. But it's still a mental disorder, and should be treated as such for children.
Thats an insane model of how trans medicine works pushed by fascists. You don't know what you're talking about.
And you get hormones no matter what, unless you take puberty blockers. The issue with trans kids is that their bodies make the wrong ones for them. They always regret it. Many kill themselves over it.
Ok. But being trans is still body dysmprohic disorder. You don't feel like the body you're born into fits who you are.
I'm not saying being trans is invalid at all. I'm just saying it's a mental disorder that the treatment is gender affirming care.
Edit: it's pretty wild that I care more about the lives of trans people than you. Even considering that I still think it's a legitimate mental illness.

Calling the natural variety of combinations of gender and sex "a mental disorder" doesn't strike me as particularly supportive either. Do you consider homosexuality to be a mental disorder?
In case anyone was harboring any illusions at all that this guy knows what he's talking about.
These seem like they are the opinions someone who has no lived experience to back up their views, but I’ll just stick to pointing out that WHO don’t consider transsexuality as a mental order - so you need to preface your statement with “it is my opinion…” That way we can all think to ourselves “who gives a fuck about this guys stupid opinion” and scroll on.
Lol, your rhetoric will put more trans people in harms way than mine. I'm advocating for them to stay safe while you're advocating for them to directly take up arms against the federal government.
It's funny because I clearly care more about the lives of trans people than you, despite my belief that being trans is a mental disorder (which it is, but I support anyone with it).

I'm talking about the fact that trans people are at an extreme risk in this current administration. I'm talking about the fact that I said that trans people need to hunker down and hide because the government literally wants to exterminate them.
I'm talking about you arguing against this because you think that trans people rising up will change things. But if trans people listened to you, they'll die.
You're literally advocating for the death of most trans people.
