This is a rather petty comment but I still remember reddit repliers ganging up on me a long time ago for joking about this kind of thing happening in the future. I was saying people would probably have to jailbreak their car to get around shit like this.

In hindsight it's all so predictable now. If it angers the average herd of tech bros then it's definitely a bad idea and they're probably going to do it anyways.

People focus too much on if they would and too little on if they could. Better they can't, than to trust they won't.
