Sturgeon's Law: 90% of anything is crap. You're comparing the best of yesteryear against the entirety of the current crop.
No am looking for best games today same as i look at best games from the past.. And i find nothing today, while in the past there are good games. My question is why there is no game that is on the same level today as games in past, not even asking to be better..
Balatro? Merge Maestro? Shattered Pixel Dungeon? The port of Star dew Valley? Into the Breach? Pocket City 2? Crashlands 2?
Maybe try a little harder to look. There's a lot of great games out there if you try to skip out of games loaded with micro transactions. Merge Maestro is just $2
What genres are you looking in?
For building games, factorio, or satisfactory absolutely blow away anything from yesteryear. There are similar games in many genres.
It's worth noting that some genres saturated a while back. FPS type games have been optimised to the limits for a while. It's difficult to make something new and interesting in that environment.
It's also worth noting that shovelware production has been industrialised, particularly in mobile gaming. Companies pump out mass numbers of games, that are basically reskins of each other. They are entirely focused on $$$ rather than making good games. They are predatory to the extreme, and water down the market further in the areas they attack.
Look at the timescales. Past = ~40 years, Today is like 1 year, 2 years? There is just more choice in the past. And have you really tried all new games?
