Electoralism is bogus, yes. The concept of voting itself isn't bad, it's the idea that voting within a capitalist state would ever meaningfully change that to a socialist one. If this is what you mean by saying leftists are the same as Trump supporters pre-2016, then you need to pay more attention to what leftists are actually saying.
