As we know, most people aren't vegan and most "communists" aren't either. At times I've even felt like my vegan but apolitical/liberal/progressive friends have better insight in the intersectionality and have more compassion than all of the carnist "comrades" I work closely with every day. Can I even consider them comrades if we're so misaligned on a basic idea?

Finding people that care is hard. Befriending and keeping them around is hard. Getting people you know to care is hard. I just feel disappointed and sad. This only sounds arrogant to people that dismiss truth, so I'll say it: This is what it feels like to be correct, and it's lonely.

Not seeking advice but I'd love to hear how your life is and what you think and feel!

An online space for the vegans of Lemmy.

Rules and miscellaneous:

  1. We take for granted that if you engage in this community, you understand that veganism is about the animals. You either are vegan for the animals, or you are not (this is not to say that discussions about climate/environment/health are not allowed, of course)
  2. No omni/carnist apologists. This is not a place where to ask to be hand-holded into veganims. Omnis coddling/backpatting is not tolerated, nor are /r/DebateAVegan-like threads
  3. Use content warnings and NSFW tags for triggering content
  4. Circlejerking belongs to /c/vegancirclejerk
  5. All posts should abide by Lemmy's Code of Conduct
