Moth trap (feddit.uk)
submitted 4 days ago by Diddlydee@feddit.uk to c/asklemmy@lemmy.ml

We'll be getting a free skinner moth trap soon. Basic one with no lights.

I know fitting a light will be best and I will a few months down the line, but in order to demonstrate to the kids, could I use a number of UV glowsticks we have in the first instance?

Not ideal, I know, but they're good glowsticks - very bright and glow well for 8 hours or so.

I asked here as the moth place I found on Lemmy wasn't active.

I'm in the UK too and I definitely see plenty of moths still. Not as many as summer, but there's plenty of moths more suited to colder weather.

Here in the northeast united States, I see a lot of little ones on the forest even into early winter.
