Again? He says this every time he's trying to justify voter ID laws. He's just permanently stupid.
There's a non-zero chance he sees people swiping debit/credit cards to pay, and thinks that's "checking ID".
It's the only way I can think of for why he's convinced. Especially since he's seeing it on TV and not in person.
Maybe he saw people using ID to buy cigarettes or alcohol WITH their groceries and got confused
He has likely never been anywhere near a cashier at a grocery store in the past 50 years
When you are at that level of rich you don't go grocery shopping. Hell, Michael Jackson had to rent out an entire store just to experience it hassle free.
He thinks its the rewards cards that are their IDs.
Every time he leaves the White House he tries to turn in a Dave And Busters card like a hotel room key...
