r/Art has quietly gone into lockdown and is no longer accepting submissions after mods began facing severe blowback for banning @haydclay for mentioning the word "print" on the subreddit.
I don’t think Lemmy is any better. The other day, a Lemmy moderator didn’t like a video I shared about the potential collapse of the US and banned me from eight communities. As far as I know, the video wasn’t even AI-generated, so I don’t know where he got that idea from.
if you think lemmy is different, you are sorely mistaken. kids on power trip are the same everywhere, regardless of platform.
Yea but on lemmy you can see who silenced and wrongfully banned who, easily, right from the removed comment.
Good luck doing that on reddit.

I could check by clikcing the moderation history on the removed comment, in the 3 dot menu. I'm on lemmy.zip tho not the desktop or mobile versions. I saw all the history of that one banned person with all their removed comments and messages from the mod.
If I do it for myself, I only see "mod". Am on mobile though. I heard that admins can sometimes see mod names, so perchance do you host your own instance?

but that debate aside, even if it were true, seeing some mix of characters other than "mod" is not really useful in any way.
Huh I see the same thing. I could've sworn I saw the mod's name a while ago too... Either way at least here there's a log with some sort of reason.

I think they added that after this comment was made, judging by the post times.
the difference is that there are other duplicate communities on other lemmy instances that you can join to get your content while reddit only has that one subreddit.
