I love the "man card" metaphor because the more you interrogate it the worse it gets. It implies that his masculinity is so insubstantial that he needs a special card to validate it, like a Linus Blanket or something, which in turn is a self-defeating act.
The Man Card Paradox is that holding a Man Card automatically disqualifies you from holding a Man Card.
