For this we need Canadian alternatives, but the tech monopolies having a stranglehold on the supply chain. For all the tough talk, all this American tech was built with Chinese labour, and with chips made in Taiwan.
To get Canadian alternatives we'd probably need a crown corporation, simply because under the current market conditions there isn't going to be a way for a Canadian tech company to enter the market now and compete with the likes of Apple or Google.
I'm all for this, but it's going to be a very hard sell in the current political climate.
The biggest issue is where are they going to get chips or RAM specifically right now. The supply chain is in shambles again. Starting to think it is how they like it.
