A gaming community free from the hype and oversaturation of current releases, catering to gamers who wait at least 12 months after release to play a game. Whether it's price, waiting for bugs/issues to be patched, DLC to be released, don't meet the system requirements, or just haven't had the time to keep up with the latest releases.

As far as I can remember, yeah. They skipped me because I was mainly a console and flash game kid in a time when point and click adventure games were becoming less popular as a genre.
Edit:
Just realized the one Spy Fox and Pajama Man Sam games I played were point and click adventure games. So I'm wrong about BTEOG being the first ever. My memory failed me.
Right in time for their revival, then.
