Wait, Dave intended to eviscerate his audience‽Don't patronize me. I am extremely aware art is supposed to evoke emotions.

I am telling YOU can do that in MANY MORE WAYS than to have your audience against you, and your thesis.

Congratulations! Go tell all the artists how you feel about this. I am certain they care very deeply about your needs and will be totally subservient to your requirements. Artists are really cool about that sort of thing. They aren't fond of rocking the boat.

The extreme negative reaction is part of it. Art plays all emotions, including inciting an audience against you. Sometimes artists don't do it for us, they do it to see what happens.
