Are you using sock accounts and forgot to change back or something? You aren't the person I replied to.

By "the rhetoric surrounding the non-voters" do you mean the valid criticism of our leaders who've ignored us for decades for their own gain and refuse to change course as they drive us off a cliff? You think the problem is that too many people know about their bad behavior and not the fact that they're engaging in said behavior in the first place? What a joke.

Blame can be shared

Yes, and you can share the blame with the person steering us toward a cliff for giving them your unwavering support despite all the other passengers shouting about the rapidly approaching cliff directly in our path.

If you don't want other people on an open forum to respond to you need to move to dm.

But anyway, no I meant the rhetoric behind this "both parties are the same so I won't vote" or "this party did something I don't like so I won't vote".

This let's the party actually driving us off the cliff win.

Dems are fundamentally flawed, they're not going to fix anything but we also wouldn't be a fascist sithole of a country now. We wouldn't be gearing up to invade Venezuela, women could still have the rights to their own bodies, ICE wouldn't be rounding people up off the streets, and I can keep this list going all day.

The dems fundamentally failed to respond to their base, but they were by far the best chance for our country still last election.

Would I love to not have to live with this 2 party system? Absolutely, but that's not our reality.

🙄 nice attempt at covering up your mistake, but you'll have to point out where I stated that. I even responded to the arguments you left on your second sock account but where would you be without strawman arguments?

But anyway, no I meant the rhetoric behind this "both parties are the same so I won't vote" or "this party did something I don't like so I won't vote".

More strawman arguments that aren't even accurate. Even if every non-voter voted in 2024, Trump would have won. The DNC wanted him to win just like in 2016 so that he can play the role of "the heel" and do all the bad stuff they want done as they convince all the rubes that they're fighting for you despite them supporting Trump and his policies at every turn.

Dems are fundamentally flawed, they're not going to fix anything but we also wouldn't be a fascist sithole of a country now.

What kind of messed up logic is that? "These people aren't going to fix anything, but we should elect them anyway and that'll fix things."

Listing the grievances of the current news cycle means nothing when you ignore the mountain of grievances that have existed for decades but have fallen out of the news cycle after being ignored by our leaders regardless of party. We were a fascist shithole last year too, and the year before that, and the year before that, and the year before that going back decades.

The dems fundamentally failed to respond to their base, but they were by far the best chance for our country still last election.

The best chance at what? You just stated they aren't going to fix anything. History shows they aren't going to fix anything.

Would I love to not have to live with this 2 party system? Absolutely, but that's not our reality.

Well, gee, I wonder why these two parties have a stranglehold on our country when people like yourself make statements like "Dems are fundamentally flawed, they're not going to fix anything" and "the dems fundamentally failed to respond to their base" followed by "but they were by far the best chance for our country."

If you think voting is so important, why do you continue throwing your vote away by supporting a system manufactured by people you hate? Why do you demand that everyone else do the same too? You and everyone else like you are the ones responsible for making this "our reality" by giving these people your unwavering support despite your own admission that they're making our lives worse.

WTF? Are you insisting that this one user is the same person as the other user because they.... Responded to a comment in a public forum? That's almost as bad faith an argument as the rest of your nonsense.

[-] CmdrShepard49@sh.itjust.works -2 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

Nope. I'm insisting that because they responded to me as if my comment was specifically directed at them despite it being a completely different username that I had originally replied to.

I'd love to hear precisely what you think is nonsense about my comments. I already demonstrated that you were wrong about the outcome of the '24 election if everyone had voted. Got anything else or are you just arguing in bad faith?

Is this just another sock account? The other two accounts seemed to have disappeared and now you're here acting outraged all the sudden.

[-] cheesybuddha@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago

We all know what you think you did

[-] CmdrShepard49@sh.itjust.works 0 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

By "we" you're referring to all your alt accounts, right?

Is this like a 'split personality' type situation?

[-] cheesybuddha@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago

Yes. We are all the same person. We are all one.

But it goes even deeper than that.

spoilerWe are also you.

🙄 nice attempt at covering up your mistake

You did it you broke the code. You're actually the only other person on lemmy. I've been living a lie and posting all of the site's content. It's all just been me and you this whole time

[-] CmdrShepard49@sh.itjust.works -1 points 1 month ago

An excuse as old as time whenever someone's argument falls apart.

[-] cheesybuddha@lemmy.world 1 points 1 month ago

Sarcastically claiming to be the only user on Lemmy is a new one to me.

Not sure what tales you are reading. I didn't even think Lemmy existed decades ago, much less as old as time. TIL

They edited their comment from what they originally posted. Previously, they just said that my comment "wasn't worth reading" and that I'm "delusional."
