I don't even know how what the point of it is though when reading the plot synopsis they are only even IN Greenland because that was the destination in the 1st movie, it looks like it's all about getting to the comet impact zone in this (which is of course, and very logically so, the only safe place in the world)
In terms of propaganda, don't underestimate the power of simply mentioning an obscure place in pop culture. It's like product placement.
