Most Albertans don't actually want this, this is a smoke show meant to drum up support, more likely they fake the results to show over 50% and Donald will claim its real even if we prove them wrong. He'll use that as an excuse to take over Alberta. He'll just do what Putin did.

They aren't taking over shit. America is heading towards a great depression by the end of the year, they are going to be too broke to invade anybody. More likely you will have states seceding from the union to join Canada.

I mean, wasn't the former governor of Minnesota saying that they should secede and join Canada?

Yep!

Wish we could but it's not practical to have them join. I do wish north us would split from the south, the lead brains can have all the fun they want down their.

The political divide in the us isn't north vs south its urban vs rural. My partner is from the deep south and half her former classmates are transgender anarchists 😂

Nice to think about though.

Lol that'd be funny but I also think your right but for another reason, I think they get tied up into a civil war before they get the chance, then the depression hits the richoids. Only then they won't be able to do shiz

Then fucking do something about it and get the UCP tf out. I'm sick of hearing "not all Albertans". Recall these fucking traitors

It's really really hard to recall someone under Alberta rules. You basically have to run your own full election to gather enough signatures.

Multiple efforts are ongoing anyway.

[-] Smaile@lemmy.ca 1 points 3 months ago

I mean I would if I could but I don't have that power.

[-] CanadaPlus@lemmy.sdf.org 1 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago)

I don't really see who could fake it, though. Most evidence is Danielle Smith is doing the David Cameron thing, and doesn't actually want to leave.

It's inevitable "rigged election" type stuff comes out of this, but there's limited paths to actually making anything out of that. (Of course, Trump can invade any time he wants for any reason)
