When it's financially viable.
The incredible thing about federation is that it's done in a volunteer basis despite the fact it isn't financially viable. This is high praise for Lemmy, but not so much for Matrix.
I'm not sure 'in runs on unpaid labor's is the flex you think it is.
That's just a cute way of writing 'it runs on exploitation'
I'm sorry if my comment wasn't clear - I don't believe I'm entitled to free things and free labor. I'm just surprised and humbled by the fact that so many people are willing to provide it.
