MODERATORS
Sounds like that is the best way to play, there's too much to realistically learn it all at once and at that point, if you do just start studying it obsessively, it becomes more like a job or studyinf for a college exam which is not very fun. I'm just going to come at it piece by piece and use the old Dwarf Fortress mantra for now: "losing is fun!"
