Do people actually consider sharing memes "stealing"? Or is that just a joke some people took seriously.

I post a lot to Lemmy, and the majority of the memes I share are stolen from elsewhere on the internet (although I try to give credit if it's art and I get it from the creator). I've only personally made like 10 or so, so far.

Occasionally someone takes offense.

I’d be thrilled if something I made was reposted, even without credit. In a place where memes go by so fast, it’s nice to be reminded of a classic!
