tell me more about Colony Ship been thinking about giving it a go but im a bit scared of the (potential) depth and difficulty
I went with a 10 CON regen feat build who specializes in shotguns and it's pretty nice being damn near invincible as long as I'm not stupid. Difficulty wise it's nowhere near as brutal as AoD and the writing is a bit more nuanced. Vince's trademark sarcasm is woven throughout and there is of course a combat arena that also serves as a courthouse for the starting area. If you kill the prosecutor, you're clearly innocent of all charges.
I'd recommend watching Warlockracy's older video on it if you want a good overview that doesn't have much in the way of spoilers. He does a very good job presenting the setting. (Also the phrase "a training machine for the mind" is stuck in my head due to his repeatedly referencing his People's History of Slavjank video)
