Top be fair, it's quite likely that half the stories of vampires are really about people like this.
Just imagine, you are visiting someone important. They do anything violent, they aren't particularly hostile. Just being in their house or around them makes you tired quickly for no apparent reason. You return to your home exhausted and pale.
Yup, must have been a vampire.
One of the first modern vampire stories was about Lord Byron who was charismatic as all hell, very unstable, and probably had a personality disorder.
